2012 Brings Three Elections

The first election of 2012 will be the Presidential Primary. The Presidential Primary will be held on February 28, 2012, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. In this election, you must choose a Republican ballot or a Democratic ballot. For the office of President, you may vote for a candidate or you may vote “Uncommitted.”

The second election of 2012 will be the Primary Election, to be held on August 07, 2012, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. In this election, there will be one ballot with both parties candidates listed for your choices. On this ballot, you will find the national candidates as well as the local Township candidates for office.

The third election of 2012 will be the General Election, to be held on November 06, 2012, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. In this election, there will be one ballot with both parties candidates listed for your choices. On this ballot, you will find the national candidates as well as the local Township candidates for office.

If you wish to request an absentee ballot, please call the Clerk at 231.834.5386 to request an application or mail a completed application to 1323 E 104th ST, Grant MI 49327.

7:00 P.M. Meeting start time beginning January 2012.

At it’s December 2011 meeting, the Grant Township Board voted to change its start meeting time from 7:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This will take effect January 01, 2012.

If you are interested, there will be a limited quantity of copies of the River Valley News available outside the main door of the Township Hall. This is a trial basis only. A bundle is being delivered on Mondays to see if there is an interest.

The November 8, 2011 School’s Election is fast approaching.

November Election

The Clerk is already working on the next election, which will be held on November 08, 2011. Grant Public School District’s ballot asks you to vote for Board Members and Two (2) Proposals. Newaygo Public School District’s ballot asks you to vote for Board Members and Three (3) Proposals.

If you have been wondering where the Grant Recycling Dumpsters were moved to, they are in the little parking lot directly across the street from the Grant Elementary School. Just turn down the Blanche Lake street and you will see them on your left.

Treasurer’s Days…
